Shining Star Wall of Recognition

In recognition of his commitment, dedication, and contributions to our community, we are thrilled to present this year’s recipient with the 2024 Coal Bowl Shining Star Award.

His tireless efforts and volunteer service have not gone unnoticed. Through his initiatives, we have witnessed a transformative impact. As he entered Breton Education Centre in 2015 – already operating his own radio station, he began the journey to technological genius. There were numerous projects he had his pulse on from day 1, eventually venturing to bigger productions. One constant project though was Coal Bowl and the technological aspect of bringing the production to those who could not attend in person. This invaluable talent has continued to allow hundreds of thousands of viewers to watch Coal Bowl in real time from the comfort of their homes. His influence has taken the best tournament in Canada to new heights.

His leadership qualities have not only inspired others but have also set a standard of excellence within our volunteer community. Breton Education Centre now has a following of technology aspiring students due to this leadership. He continues to mentor and train younger students in film production, editing, script writing. These younger students will be the ones we will see videoing games, editing clips, operating computers and interviewing players and coaches for this Coal Bowl and Coal Bowls to come. His ability to foster a sense of community and work seamlessly with others has been instrumental in the success of our collective efforts. 

His exemplary service reflects the true spirit of volunteerism, and we are privileged to have him as part of our Board.
